5497 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: How many other candidates, if any, were considered for the role of Chair of Maritime New Zealand Authority and how many, if any, were interviewed?

Hon James Meager: The current Chair was appointed in 2018 by the Minister of Transport at that time. I am advised by the Ministry of Transport that it received 55 applications for the role. Four candidates were interviewed.
