5485 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Sport and Recreation: What process, if any, was followed for the appointment of Don MacKinnon to Chair of the Integrity Sport and Recreation Commission?

Hon Mark Mitchell: For this particular appointment, the Chair was appointed to the Integrity Sport and Recreation Commission from his position as Chair of the previous Integrity Sport and Recreation Establishment Board, alongside three other members, to provide continuity and stability. His appointment to both the Establishment Board and the Board of the Commission went through Cabinet appointment processes. An appropriate process was followed in accordance with the Public Service Commission’s appointments guidelines and the requirements of the Crown Entities Act 2004.
