5464 (2026). Glen Bennett to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: Has Treasury provided analysis on any job creation effects of the Government’s $70 million major events and tourism package, and if so, what is the date and title of this analysis and what conclusions, if any, did it reach?

Hon Louise Upston: The Tourism and Major Events package was designed to grow international visitor numbers, deliver economic growth, and position New Zealand as a major events and tourism destination. Treasury was consulted during the development of the package. Any further questions about Treasury advice should be directed to the Minister of Finance. Evaluation of the Tourism and Major Events package has not begun due to the recency of the investment.
