5385 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What progress has been made since Ministers of Children, Health and Education agreed in June 2024 to redesign the Gateway Assessment?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised Oranga Tamariki, the Ministry of Education and Health NZ are progressing national improvements to the Gateway service. Improvements currently underway include updating of the consent process, clearer education referral processes and guidance, improved contract settings, and the establishment of a national governance group.
