5384 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Were Ministers presented with a Gateway Assessment redesign report back with proposed service design and implementation options in late 2024; if not, when were they provided this information, if at all?

Hon Karen Chhour: In June 2024, the Gateway Assessment Review, which identified issues and opportunities for improving the service, was presented to the Minister for Children, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Education. Ministers endorsed the key findings and agreed that the service should be redesigned. In November 2024, Ministers received advice on proposed redesign options and agreement was sought on the core components of a new delivery model. Further advice was provided in February 2025 with an update on the proposed redesign. This advice sought Ministers’ agreement for agencies to progress improvements that can be delivered within existing baseline funding, where resources allow.
