5344 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: On what date did officials first provide advice to the Minister on establishing a programme to train additional nurse practitioners?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that officials discussed options for increasing the nurse practitioner workforce with the former Minister of Health in September 2024. I am further advised that formal advice on funding the training of additional nurse practitioners was first provided to the former Minister on 25 October 2024 as part of the Primary Care Tactical Action Plan.
