5327 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Of those approved for funding under the Nurse Practitioner Training and Support Scheme to date, how many are intending to work in primary care, rural health, community health, hospital settings, or other sectors respectively?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that as of 18 January 2026, 146 nurse practitioner candidates have been approved for funding under the Nurse Practitioner Training and Support Scheme, of which 96 work in primary and community healthcare; 40 in secondary or tertiary settings, and 10 in mental health and addiction services.
