5308 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: When did NZTA first become aware of potential fraudulent overseas commercial driver licence conversions, and on what date was the Minister of Transport first informed?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA has advised me that it first became aware of previously unidentified potential issues in fraudulent overseas conversions in February 2025, while assessing efficacy of a control implemented the previous year. I was formally briefed on this specific cohort on 8 July 2025.
