5281 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: When was the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment informed that abolition of the Clean Vehicle Standard is a possible outcome of Stage One of the 2026 review, if at all?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised by the Ministry of Transport that officials wrote to the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment regarding the review on 15 January 2026 and met with members of his staff on 9 February 2026. The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment was informed that officials are conducting a full (first principles) review, which will look at all options, including abolition.
