5237 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Did any of his policies, directions, expectations communicated to Kāinga Ora or funding decisions contribute to Kāinga Ora's decision to abandon its 41-unit development in School Road, Kingsland, Auckland, if so, how?

Hon Chris Bishop: No. Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that the proposed development was not commercially viable. Kāinga Ora needs to ensure it is getting best value for money and delivering houses in the areas of greatest need. The resource consent application for developing School Road was withdrawn as part of that process.
