5225 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?
Hon James Meager: I am advised that: Maritime NZ is compliant with WACG 2.2 standards, with the minor exception of not meeting colour contrast standards due to some legacy corporate branding. A website refresh project is underway which will soon remediate this issue. Full compliance is expected before the end of the 2025/26 financial year. An accessibility statement is published on the Civil Aviation Authority website (https://www.aviation.govt.nz/about-us/website-information/accessibility-statement/) documenting its compliance level, known issues, and contact information for accessibility feedback. All content since 2015 on the Transport Accident Investigation Commission's website is 100% compliant with the NZ Government Web Accessibility standards. TAIC has a work programme to bring all previous content up to standard.
