5219 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand are committed to providing accessible websites, to ensure that all New Zealanders can easily access information online. I am further advised that Health New Zealand has developed one centralised national website, built to meet NZ Government Web Standards, with the aim of achieving full accessibility by December 2026. The Department of Internal Affairs-developed Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC) programme managed by the Government Chief Digital Officer provides the best indicator of the current state compliance with the NZ Government Web Standards.
