5218 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Ethnic Communities: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the Ministry for Ethnic Communities’ (the Ministry) website has been assessed as not fully accessible on the Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC). However, to support accessibility for its diverse audiences, the Ministry provides a language selection feature offering 20 languages, allowing users to access available content in their preferred language. The Ministry also provides multilingual audiovisual and downloadable resources where appropriate. The Ministry is committed to improving accessibility. All new content is developed to meet the New Zealand Government Web Standards, and the Ministry continues to review and update existing material to improve usability and accessibility over time.
