5209 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Disability Issues: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) scans public-facing government websites at the end of each quarter for accessibility issues, using the Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC). The latest CWAC results for the websites managed by Ministry of Disabled People - Whaikaha are published on the NZ Digital Government website: Website scores — CWAC. These results reflect the current level of the websites’ automated accessibility compliance with the New Zealand Government Web Standards.
