5208 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police

5208 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police: When was the last time a member of the Hells Angels MC gang, listed in Schedule 2 of the Gangs Legislation Amendment Bill, was convicted of an criminal offence, and what was the offence for which they were convicted?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police does not release detailed information held by the Gang Harm Insights Centre, such as a breakdown of data by gang, and only releases gang membership information at the police district level. This is for a range of reasons including the possibility that the release of such information may lead to a range of unintended consequences such as the creation of a competitive environment between gangs, provoking recruitment and inter-gang rivalry that could lead to perverse outcomes, such as an increase in serious offending and potential harm within communities.
