5197 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry), that it is committed to communicating clearly and appropriately to all audiences and considers accessibility needs in all its materials and engagements. As a population agency, equity is particularly important to the Ministry and is reflected in the ways information is shared and received. The Ministry has commenced work to strengthen the accessibility of its website and will be prioritising the most critical accessibility issues as part of its immediate work programme. The Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC) leaderboard is publicly available and shows the level of compliance by the Ministry. It can be found at: https://dns.govt.nz/standards-and-guidance/nz-government-web-standards/centralised-web-accessibility-checker-cwac/agency-leaderboard-cwac#agency-leaderboard
