5177 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: Will proposed cuts to staffing numbers at the Ministry for Primary Industries include staff involved in the Caulerpa response?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: MPI is committed to the exotic Caulerpa response. MPI is not proposing any reductions to frontline services and statutory roles, such as veterinarians, animal welfare, fishery and food compliance officers, or biosecurity teams at the border. MPI is currently consulting with staff and no final decisions have been made.
