5173 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What is the current level of compliance, if any, within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, with NZ Government Web Standards, which require public sector websites to be accessible?
Hon Todd McClay: I am advised the Ministry for Primary Industries’ (MPI) websites and intranet are mandated to comply with the New Zealand Government Web Standards, and this area is considered a central tenet of web best practice. I am also advised MPI is also a participating agency in the New Zealand government’s automated web accessibility testing tool, the Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC). The CWAC scores are available publicly at the following link: https://www.digital.govt.nz/standards-and-guidance/nz-government-web-standards/centralised-web-accessibility-checker-cwac/agency-leaderboard-cwac
