5141 (2026). Steve Abel to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What is the status of the Coalition's intentions regarding the reinstatement of live animal exports by sea?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The government has always been clear that when the livestock export trade returns, it will be with the highest animal welfare standards. We have not finalised what that looks like as a government yet. I acknowledge that the sector is looking for certainty and I'll let them know as soon as we have something to announce.
