5139 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Has he spoken to the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Health regarding the potential disestablishment of the Suicide Prevention Office, and if so on what date and time did this take place?

Hon Matt Doocey: The Suicide Prevention Office is not being disestablished. The Ministry of Health has publicly stated that it did not sufficiently brief me on the proposed organisational changes. I was briefed by the Director-General of Health on the Ministry’s organisational structure change proposals for the first time in detail on 8 April 2024.
