5128 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Health: Does the Minister agree with Hon. Matt Doocey that the Suicide Prevention Office “will remain open”, and if so, who has responsibility for the Suicide Prevention Office him or the Minister of Health?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I have stated that I support Minister Doocey and his expectations around the continuation of this important work. As the Minister of Health, I am the responsible Minister for Vote Health, including departmental funding for the Ministry of Health. The area of suicide prevention falls within Minister Doocey’s responsibilities as Minister for Mental Health.
