5123 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Health: Has he spoken to the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Health regarding the potential disestablishment of the Suicide Prevention Office, and if so on what date and time did this take place?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Suicide Prevention Office is not being disestablished. The Ministry of Health has publicly stated that it did not sufficiently brief the relevant Minister. I have been receiving high level briefs on the change programme but not specially on the proposed disestablishment of the Suicide Prevention Office.
