5101 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: For what reason, if any, was the review into the Teaching Council conducted by Debbie Francis commissioned?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Teaching Council did not advise me of why a review into the Teaching Council was commissioned because this is an operational matter for the Teaching Council, who is responsible for this publication. The Teaching Council is an independent statutory entity and is accountable to the Chief Executive and Board, not the Minister of Education.
