5087 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Revenue: What was the average dollar amount per car, if any, paid to the Inland Revenue Department in fringe benefit tax for the supply to employees and shareholder-employees of a motor vehicle available for private use in 2022?

Hon Simon Watts: There is no legislative requirement for taxpayers to provide Inland Revenue the nature of, or number of, fringe benefits supplied to their employees. Officials advise that Inland Revenue does not hold the information to a sufficient level of detail to provide the total FBT on vehicles, or the total FBT per vehicle available for private use.
