5085 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is the minister proposing any changes to the structure or membership of the Human Rights Commission, or changes to its empowering legislation?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am currently considering recommendations to the Governor-General for appointment to the Human Rights Commission Board, as there are two current Board vacancies and a third member continuing in office on an expired term. I am not considering any changes to the Commission’s empowering legislation.
