Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Of the $537 million that Oranga Tamariki reports was invested in NGOs, strategic partners and communities in 2022/23, what proportion of this amount was invested in NGOs, partners and communities prior to 2022/23, and what is the anticipated figure for 2023/24?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that none of the $537 million that Oranga Tamariki reports investing in NGOs, strategic partners and communities in 2022/23 was invested prior to the 2022/23 financial year. This figure represents the investment for the 2022/23 financial year only. Oranga Tamariki expects the total 2023/24 investment in NGOs, partners, and communities is likely to be above $500 million. The total expenditure will be reported in the 2023/24 Oranga Tamariki Annual Report.
