5041 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, school lunches were wasted during the week of February 9th 2026, expressed as an overall number?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that, in the week of 9 February 2026, external model suppliers to contributing primary schools delivered 203,720 meals. There were 15,614 surplus meals, equating to 7.7 percent. This response does not include data from the School Lunch Collective, as their reporting cycle for surplus lunches varies from other external suppliers
