Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Mental Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the action area ‘Reduce the stigma attached to gambling harm that prevents people from accessing services and supports’ under ‘Objective 2: Shift cultural and social norms’ within the Ministry of Health’s Strategy to Prevent and Minimise Gambling Harm 2022/23 to 2024/25?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand sought feedback from the Gambling Harm Lived Experience Group on the approach to its de-stigmatisation project. I am further advised that the De-stigmatisation Initiative Steering Group and Health New Zealand's Intelligence directorate reviewed how qualitative research could inform planning for the next stages of the de-stigmatisation project, including delivery for other priority populations.
