5016 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: When, if at all, will the new professional standards for teachers recently developed by the Teaching Council come into effect?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Standards for Teaching Profession came into effect for the purposes of the Professional Growth Cycle on 1 January 2026, and those for all other purposes will come into effect on 1 January 2027.
