5002 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Has the clinical framework and training resources which support health professionals working with coexisting substance use and mental health problems been updated, and when?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that the Te Ariari framework is currently being updated to ensure it reflects best practices; emerging evidence, and sector needs. This work is being done in conjunction with key stakeholders, including mental health and addiction specialists, sector representatives, and workforce development organisations. Focused engagement is taking place with Māori, Pacific, Asian, MELAA (Middle Eastern, Latin American, and African), Rainbow communities, gambling harm specialists, and those with lived experience to ensure the framework is inclusive and responsive to the sector. The updated framework and training resources are expected to be finalised by July or August 2025.
