4992 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Have national guidelines for ovarian cancer diagnosis and management been developed and implemented, and if so, on what date did this occur?

Hon Simeon Brown: Health New Zealand and the Cancer Control Agency continue to explore opportunities relating to ovarian cancer diagnosis and management. I am advised that work to improve ovarian cancer outcomes continues to take place with the priority being on building cross-tumour infrastructure that directly supports consistent, high-quality cancer care. I am further advised that Health NZ and the Cancer Control Agency consider that the Optimal Cancer Care Pathways, alongside reporting and follow-on quality improvement plans, currently provide the most effective national mechanism for driving improvements in cancer care.
