4957 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Why are Ambulatory Sensitive Hospitalisations (ASH) rates in 45-64 year age group selected as a performance metric in Health NZ - Te Whatu Ora's quarterly performance report for the quarter ended 31 December 2023?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Ambulatory Sensitive Hospitalisations (ASH) measure is one of a collection of measures from Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora's accountability documents (Statement of Performance Expectations and Statement of Intent) which must be reported against to meet legislative requirements.
