4950 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Does he agree with Greater Wellington Regional Council that the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill, as currently drafted, risk “undermining decades of partnership building with mana whenua”, if not, why not?

Hon Chris Bishop: No. Partnerships between local government and mana whenua established under the RMA will continue to develop in a new statutory context that is provided for in the Bills.
