4882 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Has the Government received any request from Queenstown Lakes District Council or Otago Regional Council for financial support in relation to the proposed Queenstown cable car project; if so, what is the estimated quantum?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Government has not received a formal proposal or request for funding from Queenstown Lakes District Council or Otago Regional Council in relation to the proposed Queenstown cable car project led by Southern Infrastructure Limited. As such, the Government has not considered providing financial assistance.
