4790 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Would the Minister consider Te Whatu Ora performance had improved if admissions from the emergency department measure decreased, and if so why?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the ‘Admissions from Emergency Department (ED)’ measure is not a good indicator of performance alone because there are a range of factors that influence the number of patients admitted to a hospital ward from an emergency department.
