Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (September to December 2023), toward implementing the recommendation to ‘develop an integrated analytical framework for the assessment of pharmaceuticals that incorporates strengthened equity analysis in all its decision-making processes’ from the Pharmac Review final report?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that equity is already a key consideration as part of Pharmac’s assessment and decision-making processes. The Pharmac Board considered its first draft Equity Policy at its December 2023 meeting and approved it in February 2024.
