Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (September to December 2023), toward implementing the recommendation to ‘fully adopt the recommendations of a Pharmac-commissioned pilot evaluation: Pharmac’s rare disorders advisory committee needs to meet frequently enough to undertake and/or consider horizon scanning’ from the Pharmac Review final report?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that Pharmac’s Rare Disorders Specialist Advisory Committee's last meeting was in March 2023 and its next scheduled meeting is May 2024. I am further advised that Pharmac look to hold at least an annual meeting of its Rare Disorders Specialist Advisory Committee.
