4677 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: Does she stand by her statement that she has “already started work on the visa”, in relation to the Parent Boost Visa; if so, why did officials from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment tell select committee that work wouldn’t start until the middle of the year?

Hon Erica Stanford: Yes. I refer the member to my answers to WPQs 2903 (2025), 3566 (2025) and 3817 (2025) which show that there are currently 2.2 FTEs in MBIE working on Parent Visa Boost. I have been advised by my officials that an oversight meant that answer to the Select Committee was not updated prior to submission and that they will be writing to the Chair of the Committee to correct the answer.
