4647 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: How many school bus routes have been terminated by the Ministry of Education, if any, since 1 January 2024; listed by school bus routes terminated and the schools these terminations have affected?

Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the Member to the attached table, showing 38 daily bus routes that were terminated between 1 January 2024 and the start of Term 1, 2025. Of these cancellations: • 18 are due to fewer than eight eligible students (average of three students per route) • 10 are due to mainly carrying students who were ineligible for school transport assistance • 10 are due to mergers with other routes. Where there is no alternative bus route for eligible students, they are offered a Conveyance Allowance
