4604 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Attorney-General: Does the Minister, or their office, use artificial intelligence in the preparation, editing, proof-reading, drafting, brainstorming, deliver or any other stage of creating speeches?
Hon Judith Collins: No. Agencies and Ministers' offices are free to use / encouraged to use GenAI in ways that are safe, transparent and responsible, in alignment with the recently released Responsible AI Guidance for the Public Service: GenAI. This includes ensuring that there is human review of GenAI outputs used to support the development of speeches and other written content such as advice and communications.
