4589 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Racing: Does the Minister, or their office, use artificial intelligence in the preparation, editing, proof-reading, drafting, brainstorming, deliver or any other stage of creating speeches?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: No, however, agencies and ministerial offices are free to use/encouraged to use GenAI in ways that are safe, transparent, and responsible, in alignment with the recently released Responsible AI guidance for the Public Service: GenAI. This includes ensuring that there is human review of GenAI outputs used to support the development of speeches and other written content such as advice and communications.
