4531 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: How much, if anything, did Bathurst mining company contribute to the National Land Transport Fund in 2024?

Hon Chris Bishop: The National Land Transport Fund (NLTF) is funded through revenue collected from fuel excise duty, road user charges, vehicle and driver registration and licensing, state highway property disposal and leasing and road tolling. Occasionally companies and other crown agencies contribute to transport improvements where they directly benefit, but NZTA has not received any direct funds from Bathurst Mining in 2024, but they may have contributed indirectly through the above means.
