4491 (2025). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: What is the process, if any, for there to be consultation prior to speed limit reversals?

Hon Chris Bishop: The process for providing feedback for the consultation is publicly available at www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation. Outside of this, the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024 (the Rule) provides for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) to hold future targeted speed reviews where they align with the Rule’s requirements. NZTA encourages anyone who might like to provide feedback on future sites that could be considered to contact it by email at speedmanagement@nzta.govt.nz.
