4412 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: How many staff in Treasury work in the State-Owned Enterprises portfolio, if any, as of 1 March 2024?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: As at 1 March 2024 there were 48 staff in the Commercial Performance and Governance Directorate at the Treasury, which is responsible for advice to a number of shareholding or responsible Ministers regarding State Owned Enterprises, Crown Entities and other types of Crown-owned companies or entities. As refered to in the answer to WPQ 4275 (2024), not all of these staff will be providing advice to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises, and those who do will not necessarily be spending all of their time on advice to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises, but it is not practical to separately count the staff or to identify what percentage of their time they are devoting to the State Owned Enterprises portfolio.
