4404 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: How many MBIE contractors work in the Building and Construction portfolios, if any, listed by operational, policy and enablement functions, as of 1 March 2024?

Hon Chris Penk: I am advised that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment does not attribute staff to particular portfolios in this way, and many teams across the agency contribute to work in multiple portfolio areas. For their Briefings to Incoming Ministers, MBIE undertook a manual exercise to calculate staff working in the operational and policy areas by portfolio.
