4361 (2024). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Why has the Minister withheld details on the "four lots of briefings or meetings" about who should be exempt from the levy to fund Fire and Emergency NZ?

Hon Brooke van Velden: At the time of the release of these four briefings, decisions on regulations for levy rates and exemptions to the levy had not yet been made. The Government has now made decisions on property types that will be exempt from paying the Fire and Emergency New Zealand levy from 1 July 2026. These decisions have been published on the Department of Internal Affairs’ website.
