4356 (2024). Reuben Davidson to the Minister of Statistics: Does the Minister believe that the Household Economic Survey is a fit-for-purpose tool to measure persistent poverty or material hardship?
Hon Andrew Bayly: I am advised that yes, the Household Economic Survey is a fit for purpose tool to measure material hardship, and has been doing so since 2013.
The Government Statistician will use administrative data in combination with survey data to measure persistent child poverty.
