4307 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Immigration: How will the government monitor, if at all, whether investors under the new Active Investor Plus visa settings are making long-term contributions to New Zealand’s economy?

Hon Erica Stanford: I will continue to receive quarterly reports on the Active Investor Plus visa, which will provide a breakdown of application volumes, investment value and investment classes, broken down by Growth and Balanced categories. I also intend to improve our evidence base of the direct and spillover investment benefit to New Zealand’s economy (and inform policy evaluations) by requiring investor migrants to respond to questionnaires about their investment activity and support to New Zealand businesses.
