4262 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What directions, if any, has she provided to the Curriculum Refresh team regarding the refresh?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have asked the Ministry of Education to: • refresh the New Zealand Curriculum so that it is consistent, knowledge-rich and provides year-by-year guidance from Year 0 to Year 13 to be delivered through teaching approaches that are backed by science, evidence and good assessment practices • consider the recommendations of my Ministerial Advisory Group on the English and maths learning areas as part of the Curriculum Refresh work • plan New Zealand Curriculum refresh work so that overall timelines align with the previous Government’s timelines.
