4241 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Why did immunisation coverage go down in Q2 23/24, as per Te What Ora's most recent quarterly performance report?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that immunisation coverage is driven by two main variables: vaccine delivery over time, and changes in the population size. Quarter 2 of 2023/24 saw a population increase across all milestone ages, as well as a reduction in the number of children who had received all immunisations in the schedule. For the 24-month cohort, this was driven by a 1% reduction in the number of children who had received their age-appropriate immunisations, and a 1% increase in the population.
